Apex Experts Turns One: A Year of Growth, Gratitude and Looking Ahead

It's Our Birthday!

It’s a milestone we’re incredibly proud of, and one that’s given us the chance to pause, reflect, and appreciate just how much has happened in the past 12 months. It’s been a busy, rewarding, and genuinely enjoyable first year - and we’re excited to see what comes next.

A New Look for Year Two

To mark the occasion, we’ve launched our newly redesigned website!

This is something we’ve been working on behind the scenes for a while, and we’re really pleased with how it’s come together. The new site better reflects who we are, what we do, and how we support our clients - and we hope you enjoy exploring it as much as we enjoyed creating it.

Looking Back on Our First Year as Apex Experts

We’ve had the chance to be involved in some fantastic industry events, including attending Bevan Brittan’s Medico-Legal Experts’ Conference in London earlier this year. It was a great event, full of useful insights, and we’re looking forward to attending more like it in the future.

We’ve also contributed to the wider conversation around expert evidence. In February, we were proud to publish an article in the New Law Journal, exploring how the role of expert witnesses is evolving and why clarity and transparency in reporting matter more than ever.

Sharing knowledge has been a big part of our journey too. Last summer, we hosted a webinar led by our senior Nurse Expert Witness, Wendie Smith, focusing on how to choose the right nurse expert for a case. The feedback we received was fantastic, and it’s something we’re keen to build on going forward.

Supporting Our Community

Alongside our professional work, supporting our community has been really important to us.

Over the past year, we’ve:

• Sponsored Cambridge Futsal Club for the 2025–2026 season

• Raised nearly £550 through our Macmillan Coffee Morning

• Made weekly food bank donations to Aylsham Community Cupboard

These are initiatives we’re genuinely proud of, and we’re committed to continuing them as we grow.

Investing in Our Team

We’ve also made a conscious effort this year to invest time in our team.

We introduced monthly team days - a chance to step away from the desk and spend time together. So far, that’s included axe throwing, pottery painting, and even tackling an escape room. It’s been a great way to strengthen relationships and keep things enjoyable.

At the same time, we’ve been shining a light on the expertise within our panel by introducing monthly Nurse Expert Witness spotlights. It’s been brilliant to showcase the range of experience our experts bring, from paediatrics to specialist clinical areas.

So What’s Next?

As we move into year two, we’re excited about what’s ahead.

We’re planning to continue our charity work, expand our content, and stay actively involved in the medico-legal sector. We’re also launching a new monthly Nursing Expert Witness Supplement, which will bring together expert insights, updates, and features straight to your inbox, get in touch if you'd like to join our mailing list if you're not already.
