Care Report (Quantum)

What is a Care (Quantum) Report?

Care reports, often referred to as Quantum reports, are prepared by independent expert witnesses and are used in personal injury and clinical negligence cases to assess a Claimant’s care needs.

It provides a detailed evaluation of the support, assistance, and services required as a direct result of the injury or medical condition in question, both now and in the future.

This report forms a key part of the quantum (value) assessment of a claim and is frequently used in court proceedings or settlement negotiations.

A clear, evidence-based Care Report ensures that the Claimant’s needs are accurately represented and costed, providing the court or negotiating parties with a reliable basis for assessing damages.

It is often pivotal in ensuring appropriate compensation is secured for the care and support required over the Claimant’s lifetime.
