Jeanette David is a Registered Children's Nurse and Registered General Nurse with over 35 years of healthcare experience across paediatric nursing, emergency care, neonatal services, safeguarding, intensive care and resuscitation practice. She has acted as an Expert Witness since 2012, undertaking instructions on behalf of both NHS organisations and Claimant solicitors in relation to paediatric care, safeguarding, emergency management and nursing standards.

 

Jeanette possesses extensive expertise in the assessment and management of acutely unwell infants and children, neonatal care, paediatric emergency nursing, safeguarding, child protection and resuscitation. Throughout her career she has held senior clinical leadership positions including Senior Sister, Unit Manager, Paediatric Safeguarding Specialist Nurse, Paediatric Clinical Skills Sister and Paediatric Resuscitation Lead.

 

Her safeguarding experience is particularly substantial, having served as Named Professional for Safeguarding Children across 32 independent hospitals and more recently as a Paediatric Safeguarding Specialist Nurse responsible for child protection investigations, strategy meetings and safeguarding support within acute paediatric, neonatal and emergency care settings.

 

Alongside her clinical and medico-legal work, Jeanette has spent many years teaching and assessing healthcare professionals in paediatric life support, advanced resuscitation, safeguarding and emergency paediatric care. She has also contributed to national publications, policy development and professional education programmes.
