Louise Marriott is a Registered Adult Nurse, Independent Prescriber and Lead Advanced Nurse Practitioner with over 30 years’ experience in primary care, urgent care, community healthcare and advanced clinical practice. She has worked autonomously within General Practice and urgent care settings for more than 15 years, providing assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of patients presenting with both acute and chronic conditions.
Louise has substantial expertise in primary care nursing, advanced clinical assessment, urgent presentations, long-term condition management, prescribing practice, safeguarding, mental health assessment and multidisciplinary working. Her career has included senior clinical leadership positions within General Practice, Integrated Care Systems, NHS commissioning organisations and workforce transformation programmes.
She is also an established expert witness instructed by both Claimant and Defendant solicitors in medical negligence matters relating to Primary Care and Advanced Primary Care Nursing. Her medico-legal work includes preparation of Breach of Duty and advisory reports, and she has recent experience giving evidence at trial.
In addition, Louise holds a Master of Laws (LLM) in Legal Aspects of Medical Practice, providing advanced understanding of consent, mental capacity, mental health law, litigation and professional standards within healthcare practice.
