Luke Hobson is an Advanced Clinical Practitioner and Registered Adult Nurse with over 11 years' experience in urgent and emergency care. His clinical background includes more than a decade working within Emergency Departments, progressing through nursing and senior nursing roles before qualifying as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner following completion of an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice.

His current practice involves the autonomous assessment, diagnosis and management of undifferentiated adult and paediatric patients within an Urgent Treatment Centre, supported by independent prescribing and advanced clinical decision-making.

Luke has particular expertise in urgent and emergency assessment, triage and prioritisation, recognition and escalation of deterioration, medicines management, interpretation of investigations, clinical documentation, safety-netting, and multidisciplinary clinical decision-making. He also participates in mortality review and clinical governance activities involving objective analysis of clinical records, evaluation of standards of care, identification of learning points, and review of clinical decision- making processes.

He accepts instructions within his professional scope of practice as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner and Registered Adult Nurse and recognises the importance of identifying matters requiring input from other healthcare disciplines.
