Dr Matthew Fowler is a Consultant Advanced Clinical Practitioner, Independent Prescriber and senior cancer services leader with over 25 years’ experience in oncology, haematology and advanced clinical practice. He currently serves as Consultant ACP for Cancer Services where he provides advanced autonomous clinical care, leads Advanced Clinical Practitioner development and supports strategic service delivery across cancer services.
 

His practice encompasses malignant and non-malignant haematology, acute oncology, systemic anti-cancer therapies, thrombosis management and cancer-related emergencies. He undertakes autonomous assessment, diagnosis, investigation, prescribing and treatment planning for patients presenting with complex oncological and haematological conditions.
 

Matt has extensive experience in chemotherapy management, central venous access devices, bone marrow procedures, lumbar punctures and cancer treatment complications. He also leads services responsible for the assessment and management of patients requiring urgent review or admission due to oncology and haematology emergencies.
 

Alongside his clinical practice, he has held senior governance, leadership and educational roles throughout his career. He is a published author, regular national and international presenter and educator of undergraduate and postgraduate healthcare professionals.
 

He accepts instructions within his professional scope relating to oncology nursing, haematology nursing, advanced clinical practice, chemotherapy management, cancer emergencies, thrombosis management and standards of cancer care.
