He has developed specialist expertise through senior tissue viability roles within a large NHS Foundation Trust, supported by advanced postgraduate study in wound healing and tissue repair.
 

His current role as a Band 7 Tissue Viability Nurse Specialist involves advanced assessment and management of complex wounds across acute and community settings, alongside leadership responsibilities in patient safety, clinical governance, policy development and quality improvement. He regularly provides specialist clinical advice to healthcare professionals and contributes to trust-wide initiatives aimed at improving patient outcomes and reducing avoidable harm.
 

William also undertakes incident investigation and clinical review work involving wound care and patient safety matters, including analysis of contributory factors, development of learning actions and provision of specialist tissue viability opinion within governance processes.
