You remain independent and self-employed, with the freedom to accept or decline cases. We provide a consultancy agreement, declaration form, and Apex-formatted CV for use with clients.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re currently recruiting experienced paediatric nurses who:

• Are NMC registered and Band 7 or higher

• Have at least 10 years of post-registration experience

• Currently practise in a paediatric clinical setting

• Possess strong written communication skills

• Are impartial, objective, and highly professional

• Can commit to accuracy and timeliness in reporting

How It Works

After onboarding, you'll receive detailed case instructions. You'll use our secure platform to access documents, complete your report using our easy-to-use templates, and submit it for quality assurance.

Apex handles communication with the instructing party, invoice chasing, and client relationship management, so you can focus on what really matters.

You may be asked to:

• Review notes from paediatric units, neonatal wards, community services, or safeguarding cases

• Draft a medico-legal report using our structured template

• Attend (rare) virtual or in-person expert meetings

• Respond to clarification queries or requests for addendums

• Provide consistent involvement across the life of a case
